Mission Fun - I

It was C, who started this discussion thread among our gang @ office, with those we-need-fun-during-weekends-after-hectic-work kind of dialogues. And, we're not still very sure about his true intentions for proposing such plans. Anyways, the first plan of our Mission-Fun did indeed go really well! Since few people dropped out due to their vacation plans, we decided to meet up in our house, do some cooking, play some games and have fun.

C was punctual! After that really fast shopping of groceries, we were all set to start with our cooking plans, as the gals dropped in a bit late! C is really great at cooking. Be it the way he cut the vegetables, or the way he prepared : C is like a professional chef. In an hour, the spicy veg-briyani & the mushroom-masala were done! The late-comers did finish the cooking with their roti preparations as well :P

V liked my room much compared to the other rooms in our house (yeah, mine is obviously the cleanest room you see :P). S was doing all his usual pranks while playing UNO. It was a nice get-together, which made me feel better with the not-so-good-happenings that are going around. It also reminded me of the get-together that our old hyd-gang once had in our house.

This Saturday was the first day of the "Super-Six!!!" fun series, being organized by our Company..
On this first event, we were taken to the Runway-9 here in Hyderabad. We enjoyed the day a lot in :

• Go-Karting [i wasn't feeling like going at first, but enjoyed a lot later ;)]
• Laser Combat [ which i liked the most out of the stuffs there :)]
• Archery
• Shooting
• Skating
• Rock Climbing.. etc etc

They day was all fun, ending in Dinner+Drinks+Dance.. Though i stopped enjoying with the Dinner alone.. ;)

DonBoscoboys GetTogether !!!

Its before the Diwali vacation, with full enthu, i too replied for the *Get Together* thread that was running in my DonBoscoBoys yahoo groups.. Actually we planned to meet the next day to Diwali, on Sunday around 10 O Clock in our School Grounds..

Its was Sunday, but i got up so late and when i had my breakfast it was around 11.30, When i got a call from one of my friends saying that, around 25 guys have turned up in the School for that Get Together, and everybody is asking for me [ As i proposed for some plans in our groups.. but didn't turn up ]

So, immediately i rushed towards my School, its been quite some time i have been there.. Those roads towards the School brought me back my green old memories.. :) :( And the warm smile in that Gate Security guy, made me feel happy.. And the look of our School wasn't the same, it has changed drastically... Some rich look added to it.. Why not, heard that the term fees and other stuffs.. have gone up.. :0

Well... Not many guys from my close friends' circle turned up for various other reasons.. But still we enjoyed chatting in groups, pulling each others legs.. under that Tree in our grounds.. As its not well planned, we just talked for hours.. And around 1 O Clock, thought of leaving.. And marched our way back..

Near the Princi office, there used to be a board holding the Top Scorers in +2 every year.. And till before previous year my score stood there as the top, but that was beaten by some guy last year.. I just looked and smiled.. And left the School on my way to home..

Tambola !!!

Oy...
So... I am making yet another post about a Game.. Hmmm !! Does that mean, i am enjoying a lot playing games these days ?? I myself donno.. Anyways, am writing this post as am feeling sooo bored, and its Friday evening that i dont feel like working too, though i have a loads of them.. :D

It was in Verizon, when we rush in to occupy the Break-Out area, or Cafteria.. atleast thrice a day.. [For Tea Time, Snacks Time, Vetti arattai time.. ] But here in DEShaw, thats not the case for me, even when i feel bored and have no work, I cant go and chat in the Cafeteria drinking a coffee as there is no, the so called *Gang* for me here... :(

But still, they have this *Happy Hour*, once in two weeks, when *all of us* used to go to the Cafetria, play some games, munch some snacks and the new joinees will introduce themselves to the crowd.. Today is yet another day for that *Happy Hour* !!!

I usually dont go to the Cafteria immediatly after the alert comes in my Outlook.. I will go upstairs some half-an-hour later, exactly when they start giving away the snacks.. :P But today, i somehow started immediately, accompanied by D.. :) And there awaited this game of *Tambola*.. We all were given a piece of paper, having some 3 rows with 5 numbers in each of the row.. We were thinking, that this is like puzzle and we need to get the sum of the each row to some number.. blah blah.. :(



But, the game isnt that.. They will be reading the numbers, and we need to strike it off.. [So simple na.. ] And they announced prizes too for..

• First 5 strikes
• Complete strikes in 1st row
• Complete strikes in 2nd row
• Complete strikes in 3rd row
• Full house [meaning the whole]

Unfortunately, none of us sitting in our table got !! And the worst thing is that, the same girl got three prizes for completing 2 rows and the Full house.. Huh... :x :x.. We all started shouting too.. :D They also announced prize for the lowest strikes, none of us got that even.. 6 was the lowest number of strikes a guy has got.. Mine is 10.. [Adhuvum kedayaadhu, idhuvum kedayaathu.. Huhhhh !! ]

Okayss.. Thats it.. Enjoy the weekend guyssss !!

DumbC with the (J)DumbO !!!

Hi all..
Its always tough to come back to work, after enjoying a lot in a looong weekend.. I have felt this right from my school days, so do all.. And these 3 days, went so fast and also we had lots of fun, as its the Gundan who came to Hyd, to enjoy the Holis with us all.. We used to always have loads of fun, when this guy is nearby, right from our precious College Days.. Such a childish, cute character.. And in this post, am gonna write about one of his most childish thing that he did during this Trip of him.. :) [ Gunda enna mannichidu.. :D ]

We five [ me, my roommates (D and Venkat), M and Gundan ] roamed to Birla Mandir, Planetorium, Museum, Oceans Park.. on Saturday and Sunday.. And it was Sunday nite, when we missed our plan to go to Bommarillu 2nd show, And so we all planned to play something in the night.. The head count reduced to 4 at that time, as M was suffering from some side-effects after all our Koothu in Oceans Park, and he wasnt able to give company to our night-out..

It all started around 11 30 in the night.. We planned to play DumbC.. And [Me, D] were in one team and [Venkat, Gundan] is the opponent team.. We took, *Tamil Songs* as our choice.. We were laughing like anything, when i mimed on some typical words and songs.. Our team was finding out the songs fastly, both in my turn of mimic and D's turn; Even Venkat was shocked as i did things very badly during our last train journey.. They even gave us songs which are infamous, which i havent even heard, which sounds funny.. [eg. jinjinaakadi.. jinaakunaakadi.. :D ], But Me an D still managed to find them..

With the opponent team, atleast when Gundan was miming, Venkat used to find the songs fastly, as he knows a helluva Tamil Songs, rite from the aadhi kaalathu songs.. But it was Gundan, who wasnt able to even find out simple, famous new songs.. Ha ha ha :D



It was around 1 O Clock, that was when we thought why cant we make this somewhat interesting with Time Limits and stuffs.. So we decided this, Each team has to be given 5 songs by the opponent team and how much time the team takes to find out all of them.. So both of the teams prepared their list.. And myself and D, also planned something like starting with wat sort of songs, which period.. blah blah [though nothing was used at last..] And Venkat, Gundan closed the doors of their rooms and discussed abt their plans...

Finally, we were about to start, so which Team is gonna do first, We had a Toss... [Venkat, Gundan] Team won, but still Venkat asked us to do first.. I was miming, and D was finding out the Songs, as he knows a helluva songs.. :) As the Stop Clock of Venkat's Cell reached 7 minutes 38 seconds.. We found out all of the 5 songs successfully.. Heyyyy... :D

Now starts the actual Drama.. :) In their team Gundan decided to mime.. And I started the Stop Clock.. Gundan started miming.. Venkat tried with hell lot of suggestions, but still he dint get it.. it was around 2 minutes in the Stop Clock.. into which i was keenly looking into.. Suddenly Gundan throwed the Paper he was having in his hands, face reddish and about to cry.. started shouting.. "Po naanga thothu poitooomm.. Nee kashtamaana paataa kuduthutta.." and started hitting D, with drops started to flow from his eyes.. We three were unable to laugh, unable to do anything.. And he lied down in the Bed like a small child.. Crying.. !!!! Ha ha ha.. Gunda.. Gunda.. :D D, started to kindle him.. And the usual fight/blah blah between both of them continued.. [Gundan, Venkat] started shouting *We only won* !!

Ha ha ha.. Its the Typical character of Gundan, and we always used to enjoy a lot at him.. The next day, Monday, the last day of his Trip... We somehow managed to go to *Snow world* amidst several oscillations and confusions.. [Venkat was having peak cold, i was having head ache.. ] But M, escaped and didnt give company to us.. Huh !!

So.. to finish off, it was a great weekend with the (J)Dumbo.. ;) And also, we finished the weekend with a 2nd show to Bommarillu, for the 2nd time; after packing Gundan for Chennai, as we already tortured him a lot by making him to watch Telugu Channels, movies etc etc.. Also discussing a lot abt Telugu.. Surprisingly D, also joined us this time, usually it will be only Me and Venkat, both of us will be discussing and i will be learing something new in Telugu from him.. ;)

My First Company Party !!!

Hi all..

Yesterday [ 12th Aug '06 ], We had a company party as the directors hav come from US for a week.. And its the first time for me to attend such parties in a pub !!

It happend in Bottles n Chimney here in Hyd.. and we went ther around 8 30 at night.. For ppl who dont drink/smoke, am damn sure its not the right place to enjoy.. But still we managed to have Fruit juices and dance amidst the crowds.. !!



The theme is Arabian Nights, and they wer givin away those parthas [or watever its called] which some guys wer wearing.. I too borrowed and weared for a few mins n got a Snap.. [But wont put tat snap here.. ;) ]

I dint join the dancin crowd, at the starting.. and I was standing in a corner watchin the movements of the ppl dancin ther.. and enjoyed watchin some big thalais dancin in full enthu.. ;)

So, finally after food we returned around 12.. Not a gr8 enjoyment, but still a new environment and an occasion to be with...

Farewell to Sriram !!!

Hi all..

This post gonna hv some info abt my College makkal and some happenings around this week.. :)
Sriram is one among the 3 guys from our Batch who joined DeShaw last year along with Thyagu and Venkat..

We belong to CD Batch, and only guys/gals from AB Batch of our set have gone to US to do their post-grad degree.. And nobody from my class [which s really pathetic] has gone for US to do MS.. huh...

And, Sriram has broken tat statement atlast... And he s gonna do Masters degree in CS at Univ of Virginia.. :) He left DeShaw this week..

[Sunday Treat :)]


Hmmm.. last Sunday he gave us all a treat as his close friend Swetha [;)] was also in town.. And we had a nice time chattin for long hours even after they literally kicked us out of the restaurant.. We wer standing in the roads and talkin abt things which we wudnt even thought during our College days.. I hav heard tat gals used to Gossip.. But was seein for the first time in front of me.. Uma and Swetha started listing gals one by one, they dint stop with CS dept alone, they went beyond dept boundaries.. and wer checklisting the current status of the pairs, hw many pairs broke and hw many new pairs cam up.. and it goes onnnn.. And they wer even plannin to create a Gossip community for our College/Set makkal in Orkut huh......... All these discussions goin at around 11 pm in the night.. Ha ha ha.. :D Seriously we hvnt even spoken this much during our College days abt others... :) It was really a nice time to be with them all.. Talkin all those things.. ;)

And finally, we had a small meetin before Sriram left for Chennai..

Goa !!!

Hi all..

Am not gonna scribble much in this post.. Yeah, am gonna put some pix taken during my Trip to Goa..

The plan was started a month back by my colleagues, and they started all the discussions thru mail, and one day wen i opened my yahoo mail i saw around 80 mails with subject Re: Tour Plan !! I juz selected everything and deleted,

I was not much interested in the trip from the beginning, as i thought takin leave for 2 days immediately after joining in a new company is very bad and also for some other reasons...

But finally, i started with them for the trip.. we reached there by Air Deccan, i wont comment much abt the flight journey, but i really enjoyed the sight seeing wen we wer nearing Goa.. May be the pilot thought we wll enjoy those stuffs, and hence was flyin very low.. or is it the nature of Air Deccan ATR buses by themselves tat they cant go further higher.. :) I donno.. :))

It was monsoon time, and the rain started heavily from our second day.. And we got 3 bikes to roam around several beaches in Goa.. We dint even care for gettin completely wet in the rain, and most of the time we wer in bike.. as and wen we reach some Beach, they wll say all the water rides/other things hv been closed 'coz of monsoon and dont get in as the weather is rough.. blah blah.. :))

The things which i really enjoyed in the trip s tat we played in the swimmin pool in our Beach Resort for hours.. and during nights we played cards, and wer fighting/tryin to hit others like anything..

Hi all...
Meeting u all again after a long time.. but in a really happy and somewhat tensed mood.. Life seems to b somewat better from the last few months.. In this post am gonna write about the joyous moment that i had during the last weekend, when i went to Kerala.. :)

It was friday evening, and only 3 of us ( from my company) wer in a mood to have a great weekend ahead, as we r on the way to Kerala for some dual purpose.... yeah, we have to attend one of our colleague's marriage there, but apart from that its the time, when the people all over Kerala gather to this place [Thrissur], to see n enjoy the Pooram festival which wll be takin place in a traditional and auspicious manner and once in a year...

As my colleague is from Thrissur, we dint worry abt the stay and food... as we can nalla motta adichfy that already motta..

It was almost time for the train, and i was little bit tensed whether i wll catch it or not, at tat time i recieved a call and some good/gr8 news, of some sort which i havent heard from the Final Days of my 3rd year College Life.. that made me feel good.. and started briskly for the trip... [Will blog abt this seperately... ;)]

Guruvayur
We reached Thrissur and had a warm welcome from the motta's family members, his amme and chechi [mom and sister] and i hv to write a lot about his sister's cute,kutti, vaal payyan.. Keshu..

Then we planned to go to Guruvayur, which is very near to their place.. went there in train.. some half an hour journey.. loved to watch those coconut trees along the sides... and after reachin there.. we wer supposed to be wearing a moond[dhoti] alone, and nothing in the top.. wat to do, i dont like these sort of restrictions but heard ppl saying.. We are nothin in front of God.. So we hv to... Then we had a nice dharsanam..

Thrissur Pooram
Ok lemme start describing abt this traditional festival, which happens in a year..
There are two Amman's in the Thrissur town and a Sivan temple in the center.. all these together form a circular area exactly at the centre of the Town..

The two amman temples are Thiruvambaadi and Paramekkavu.. and the Sivan is Vadakkunaathar... The traditional story goes like, these two ammans wanted to marry Sivan, so they started fighting infront of the Sivan temple, and they finally returned after samadhaanam...

So, hw is this story being depicted every year... Tats the gr8 thing that happens.. there are 16 elephants from each of the amman's side.. [ total of 32] each of them decorated with the traditional ornaments in their head and neck.. and the middle one of each 16 has the amman representing in its head..

And ther are 3 ppl standing on the top of each elephants having the traditional umbrella and visiri.. [ and they used to change these traditional umbrella, a minimum of some 45 sets from each side.. and this is called Kodamaatam ], and they other two standing on top of the elephants, have to rise up and down in some unique style the visiri's they r having all thru the day, i can imagine hw stressed they might be, but in their face i can see only happiness and they might hv felt they r doing for God.. :)

And I loved the music that was played.. it was coool.. and i keep on humming the same for hours.. on the final day the two elephants representing the goddess alone meet right in front of the sivan temple.. bow to each other and leave... :) was really nice to see those things.. :)

And the main part of this festival is the Vedikkat [fireworks] more than 40 lakhs will be spent for this thing, but this ther was a tragedy in one of the places where some half of the fireworks are placed got blasted and some ppl died.. so it was cancelld...

But we felt ok, as the other traditional things went on smoothly..

Keshu - the vaal payyan
Keshu, is goin to his 2nd standard, but his cute english tat he used to talk with us [as he doesnt know tamil, and we dont know malayalam] and the wordings he used to yell at us.. "You are a mandhaboodhi, You are a chaanagam" [ meaning dumbhead and cow dung resp.. ;-) ] I donno he found abt me.. But i juzzzz enjoyed...

As we planned not to take him to Pooram, coz of the crowd and things.. he took our camera and mobiles and kept them hidden.. though had tensions at the last moments.. i juzzz enjoyed tat too.. but felt bad, wen his mom scolded for tat.. and he started crying.. so bad..

But, we wanted to hav a good time with him in a good place.. as he s all alon durin his summer holidays, so we took him to a dam [Peechi dam] on the final day.. we walked deep into the forests and we njoyed like anything...

The Food
We really enjoyed all the food, that we prepared for us.. motta's mom and sister took so much effort and they kept on preparin items and served us.. really cool things, most of them cooked in coconut oil.. and kuzha puttu, aapam, prawn fry [ juz made me to remember the prawn fryof kumarakom restaurant], chicken curry, chicken stew,full fish fry [ tat we really coool], boiled bananas [i hvnt heard b4], that typical gundu gundu rice[ only had it on first day, later they had the ponni rice for us]... and the typical jeeraga boiled water..

Colleagues's marriage

It was at somewhat faraway distance from Thrissur, in a place called Kothamangalam, and we had to travel in two buses for abt 2 and half hours.. but i was lookin along the sides while travelling, but i cudnt see any unoccupied places like the ones tat i used to see during my journey in tamil nadu [ yeah, Kerala is supposed to hv highes population density.. so it has to be like tat.. ;)].. We reached a Church, it was a Christian marriage, i hvnt seen any before, so it was a little different to watch.. I can understand wat was goin is the Mass.. but along with the mass the father used to say the names of the bride and groom and some sentences following in malayalam but with the same accent that even ourside fathers used to utter.... so can understand to some extent wat is going on.. they exchanged rings.. and finally for the awaited pandhi, but tat was little different too.. enjoyed tat.. returned back.. :)


Ok makkalae.. I think am writing toooo much.. but still i feel i missed out lot of things.. but enough for this.. tata..
